As many of you know by driving through Reston, buildout of commercial and high-density development near the existing and planned Metro transit centers is underway, with more projects working their way through the process. Reston’s land-use plan was reworked by the county in 2014 to encourage high-density development near the transit centers and according to the county, “the three station areas could become home to a total of 30 million square feet in offices and 28,000 housing units.” The following article describes just a few of the proposed projects near the Wiehle Metro station with many more being planned for the Reston Town Center station area.
